How do I Decide What Weight my Blanket Should Be?
Most Occupational Therapists recommend using 10% body weight, plus one as a starting point. For example, a 70 pound child would need 7 pounds, plus one, which would be an 8 pound blanket. However, each individual is different, so each individuals personal needs should be taken into consideration. The most important thing to keep in mind when determining a weight, is that a weighted blanket should never be too heavy.
What are Poly Pellets?
Poly pellets are non toxic and hypoallergenic. They pellets are smooth, non-porous, round, “plastic beads, which are distributed evenly throughout and “quilted” into the inside of the blanket. They are safe, machine washable and dryer friendly.
How long will it take to receive my Weighted Blanket?
Generally, it takes 1-2 weeks. If a rush order is needed, please be sure to inform us of that. If we have to special order your material, it may take a bit longer.
How do I wash my Weighted Blanket?
Both the poly pellets and fleece material that is used are machine washable. It is recommended to use a gentle setting when washing (cold) and drying (low). The same washer and dryer settings are recommended for the medical grade material also or they can be wiped down.
Is the outside removable?
No. All sides of our blankets are sewn together and the inside is not removable.
Are your blankets Latex Free?
Yes. All of our products are latex free.
Can I add more weight later as my child grows?
No. The pellets are quilted on the inside of the blanket and the outside material is sewn together on all four sides.
What is your return policy?
Because our weighted blankets are custom made, we only offer refunds if there is a manufacturer defect.
What color does Hospital Grade Material come in?
Our medical grade material comes in both Royal Blue and Teal. Royal Blue comes in cloth and rubber and Teal only comes in rubber.
